Contractor Under Fire over Delay in CM Office Works

VIJAYAWADA:With construction of chief minister’s camp office and other related works taking too long, Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) commissioner G Veerapandian on Friday flew into a rage on the contractor and sought to know why so much delay was occurring.

The commissioner visited the Rythu Bazar area where drainage works were underway to prevent water-logging whenever it rains since the chief minister’s camp office is close by.

He asked the officials to bring pressure on the contractor to speed up the works and warned that further delay will be viewed very seriously.

He was also unhappy over the way the road works were being carried out near the camp office location.

The commissioner was upset with the tardy pace of works since the chief minister arrived in Vijayawada last night and was not having a place to rest. Whenever the chief minister visits the city, he is forced to retire for the day in a bus.

Despite the chief minister and the municipal commissioner keeping a hawk like watch on the construction of the camp office, the works are not moving as fast as they were supposed to.
