VIJAYAWADA: The CPM demanded that the state government clarify on a report in the media that villagers of Tallaya Palem, Lingayapalem, and Uddandarayunipallem will be shifted out to accommodate construction of the core capital.

In a press release, CPM capital region convener Ch Babu Rao said CRDA officials are creating confusion among people providing contradictory information. He said there is no clarity till date as to where the core capital would be constructed and what effect it will have on the people in the region. Will the people in the area be displaced or not?

The left leader said on one hand the government says people will not be shifted out and on the other, it takes measures to see they are forced to move out. He blamed the government for destroying the lives of farmers and others in the region.
