2 Held for Burglaries, 1 for Thefts

VIJAYAWADA:  Police have arrested three persons, two in connection with burglaries in shops and one for allegedly committing thefts in houses.

According to police commissioner A B Venkateswara Rao, the two persons arrested for stealing articles from shops were Shaik Shafi, 23, and a juvenile offender. The police recovered from their possession gold and silver jewellery and electronic equipment worth Rs 11.5 lakh. The police also recovered Rs 20,000 cash from them.

The police also arrested one Kancharla Mohana Rao alias, 31, an old convict, and recovered from his possession gold jewellery worth Rs 2 lakh.
