Opposition Demands MLA's Arrest

VIJAYAWADA:  All opposition parties have condemned the attack on Musunuru tahasildar D Vanajakshi by Denduluru MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar’s followers on Wednesday and demanded immediate arrest of the MLA and his men.

In a press release, K Ramakrishna said the threat posed by sand mafia to the law and order machinery has become evident from this incident.

He accused the state government of being blind to atrocities committed by sand and mining mafias and demanded that the Chief Minister intervene and take necessary action.

Congress leaders Malladi Vishnu, K Shivaji condemning the incident said it has now become clear that ruling party leaders are behind several antisocial activities in the state. They said with the TDP chief looking the other way, his men are resorting to such atrocities. They too demanded immediate arrest of the TDP MLA.

District Employees JAC chairman AV Vidyasagar said if this type of incidents occur and government employees on duty are targeted, it will affect the morale of the government staff. He demanded that the government ensure the safety of its employees.
