VIJAYAWADA: Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) has begun to crack the whip on those who have constructed buildings in violation of the town planning rules.
The municipal town planning staff, using drilling machine and sledge hammers, razed the third floor of a building in Meka Vari Veedhi in One Town as it was illegally constructed.
Municipal commissioner G Veerapandian, while going around the One Town, said that he would not allow any unauthorised construction. If any building is constructed in violation of the town planning rules, it would be razed without any second thought, an official press release said on Friday.
