"The Commission has observed that the contents of the media report, if true, raise a serious issue of violation of human rights of the victim," a release by NHRC said.

The rights body has given two weeks' time to the officers of AP Government to submit a factual report about the incident. "The (TDP) MLA reached the spot and objected to her action and assaulted the woman officer. The policemen present there did not take any step to protect the victim," it added.
