Live Wire Kills One While Fixing Welcome Board

SRIKAKULAM:One person died and another was injured as they came in contact with rain soaked electricity wire at Koththa Road junction on way to Amudalavalasa in the town Thursday.

The victims were fixing flex boards to welcome government whip and Amudalavalasa MLA Kuna Ravi Kumar who was returning to Srikakulam after attending the TANA conference in the USA. The followers of Ravi Kumar from Vanjangi village in Amudalavalasa mandal in an attempt to give a hero’s welcome to their leader hired contractors to fix the flex boards. The tragedy occurred while fixing the welcome boards.

Bhaskar Rao (25) of Srikakulam died on the spot and the injured was shifted to RIMS by 108 vehicle for treatment. CI Naveen Kumar registered a case and is investigating.
