VIJAYAWADA: Continuing with the age-old practice of offering Bonam and Pattu Vastram to Goddess Kanaka Durga temple atop Indrakeeladri Hill in Vijayawada, Sri Mahankali Bonala Jathara Utsavalu Ummadi Devalayala Uregimpu Committee offered the same here Sunday.
Attired as Pothurajulu, soothsayers, the members of the delegation representing the committee accompanied by a large cultural troupe had arrived from Hyderabad. They went in a procession from Jammichettu to the temple passing through Brahmana Veedhi and other main thoroughfares.
According to committee members, a total 300 people representing different temples in old city of Hyderabad and cultural artistes from various parts of Telangana had come to offer prayers to the Goddess. Committee president Ale Bhaskar Raj, general secretary P Venkatesh and others had participated in the event.
