'Quick Disposal of Cases Top Priority for High Court'

GUNTUR:Efforts are on for speedy disposal of cases pending with different courts across the state, High Court judge justice CV Nagarjuna Reddy has said.

Interacting with newsmen during his visit to the city Sunday, Reddy said that the High Court was focusing on reducing the pendency of the cases in the courts by holding discussions with judicial officials in every district. Necessary guidance and suggestions were being provided for clearance of pending cases, he informed.

Steps were being taken to fill the vacant posts in judiciary, even as 26,000 applications for various posts in Guntur district related to judiciary were pending. Meanwhile, as and when need arises, necessary measures would be initiated to fill the posts in the High Court, he said and maintained that there were no obstructions in discharge of duties in the High Court.

Later, Reddy held a review meeting with the judiciary officials in the district.
