Cops on Alert as Martyrs Week Begins

VISAKHAPATNAM: The Maoists have announced observation of Martyrs Week across Andhra Odisha Border (AOB) from Tuesday. They observe the week to remember their leaders who laid down their lives while fighting with the police. In view of it, the police have strengthened security across the AOB in north Andhra region. Already, more armed forces have been shifted to the agency areas and combing operations have been started in the dense forest blocks. Even in the midst of security arrangements in the agency, Maoists have pasted posters at several places inviting the youth to take part in the Martyrs Week events.

In the wake of the recent encounter, the police are also on high alert in GK Veedhi, Chintapalle, G Madugula, Munchingput, Pedabayalu, Koyyuru and Paderu areas of Visakhapatnam agency.
