Maha Devotees Celebrate Ashadi Ekadasi at Puttaparthi

ANANTAPUR: Devotees from Maharashtra and Goa celebrated Ashadi Ekadasi at Prasanthi Nilayam at Puttaparthi in Anantapur district Monday.

As per Varkari Sampradaya, lakhs of devotees walk to the shrine of Lord Vitthala at Pandharpur every year in the month of Ashada.

On Monday morning, hundreds of Sai Varkaris arrived at Prasanthi Nilayam singing the praise of Sai Vitthala. Youth danced to the tunes of Marathi devotional songs. Popular vocalist Swaradhish Bharat Balvalli rendered devotional numbers on the occasion.

Earlier, an MLA from Kolhapur in Maharashtra  Sujit Minchekar offered a Tulsi garland to Satya Sai Baba.
