Dist Gears Up For SSC, Inter Exams

VISAKHAPATNAM: With less than two weeks for the commencement of class X and Intermediate examinations, the district administration is taking measures for the smooth conduct of the exams.

The Intermediate exams will begin on March 11 and SSC exams on March 26. A record number of 1.68 lakh students are expected to appear for the first-ever school final exams being conducted in the truncated state of Andhra Pradesh. The district administration is coordinating various departments to attend the examination services.

The class X examinations will be conducted from 9.30 am to 12 noon till April 11. As many as 62,661 regular students and 7,195 private students will take the exams. The administration has arranged 262 examination centres of which 232 are for regular candidates and 30 for private ones. A strong room has also been set up in Queen Marry High School under One-Town police station limits to keep the question papers. Spot valuation will be held from April 15 to 28 at the Queen Marry High School.

The Intermediate examinations will be held from 9 am to 12 noon till March 31. A total of 93,255 regular students and 7,291 private students, both first and second year, are attending the final exams. The Intermediate Board has arranged 111 test centres (city 55, rural 41 and 15 in agency).

Collector N Yuvaraj directed district educational officer MV Krishna Reddy and regional inspection officer of Intermediate Board Jayasri to coordinate with the line departments to make arrangements for the exams. He directed the district health officer to provide one ANM and first-aid kits along with the ORS packets at each exam centre.

Avanthi Group Holds Tech Meet

Avanthi Institute of Engineering and Technology, Tagarapuvalasa and Avanthi’s Research and Technological Academy, Basavapalem village in Bhogapuram jointly organised UMANG-2K15, a one-day national-level technical meet here Saturday. Avanthi Educational Society chairman and Anakapalle AP M Srinivasa Rao inaugurated the event, while RINL chairman and managing director P Madhusudan was the chief guest. Andhra University vice-chancellor GSN Raju and professors from IIT-Madras interacted with the students on the occasion.
