2 Killed in Mishap, Good Samaritan CP Shifts Injured to Hospital

VISAKHAPATNAM:In a ghastly incident, two persons died and another sustained severe injuries after the bike the trio was travelling on hit a divider in front of Sai Priya resorts near Rushikonda here Sunday night.

City commissioner of police Amit Garg, who was travelling just 100 metres behind the victims, saw the accident and played the good samaritan by rushing to their rescue and arranging his escort vehicle to shift the two injured to the hospital immediately.

Yerra Babu, Pandu and Sai, all residents of Relli Veedhi were working as road cleaning workers for a private organisation. After finishing their work at Rushikonda area, they started for home riding triple on a single bike.

Near Sai Priya resorts, they reportedly lost control over the bike and collided with the divider. Yerra Babu died on the spot, while another man, whose identity is yet to be ascertained, died even as he was being shifted to GITAM hospital.

Commissioner of police Amit Garg stayed on the spot with the body yet to be removed from there and alerted the emergency services and waited for the PM Palem police to arrive. The third injured was given first aid and shifted to KGH.
