Bear Mauls Youth to Death

VISAKHAPATNAM: In a shocking incident a youngster has been mauled to death by a wild bear in the forest near Kothaballuguda village near Araku valley in Visakhapatnam agency Monday morning. The deceased was identified as vijay Kumar (19), native of Pedaballuguda village.

According to sources, Vijay Kumar had gone to nearby the forest Monday morning to collect leaves used for making leaf plates. On his return, he was suddenly attacked by the bear. A severely injured Vijay Kumar was found by some of the locals in the forest with deep scratch marks. They tried to shift him to the hospital, but he died on the way. The body was shifted to government hospital for post mortem. Araku Valley sub-inspector of police B Ramakrishna visited the spot and registered a case.
