VUDA Launches Drive against Unauthorised Layouts

VISAKHAPATNAM:Acting tough against the formation of unauthorised layouts, the officials of Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA) Monday razed down six layouts spread over 158 acre in north Coastal Andhra districts under VUDA limits. Announcing the drive against unauthorised lay outs, VUDA vice-chairman T Babu Rao Naidu said that they have identified around 100 unauthorised layouts between Tuni in West Godavari district and Narasannapeta in Srikakulam district.

“Orders have been issued to the officials concerned to demolish all unauthorised layouts. The planning department has formed five special teams to carry out the work at the field level in 10 zones. Stringent action will be taken against any unauthorised lay out,” he stressed. The vice-chairman made a personal visit to several layouts and gave directions to the officials, asking them to demolish the maximum number of such layouts within the next eight days.

On Monday, the VUDA authorities demolished an unauthorised layout spread over 86 acre covering survey numbers 8, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 63, 63/p, 64, 65, 67, 76/p, 77/p, 78/p, 79/p, 86, 90, 249, 250, 254, 255 and 275 at Pedagadi village in Pendurthy mandal of Visakhapatnam district.

The officials also demolished the illegal layouts in survey no. 45 over 12.45 acre at Dharmapuri in Vizianagaram, a 10 acre unauthorised layout in survey no. 165, 166, 68/p, 69/p, and 70/p in Patrunivalasa of Srikakulam district, another 9.27 acre layout in survey no. 496, 497, 51/2 and 201 and another six acre layout in survey no. 216, 213 and 81/p in Atchuthapuram of Visakhapatnam district. They also removed the illegal layout spread over 35 acre in survey no. 174, 178 and 137 of Golagam village in Anakapalle mandal in Visakhapatnam district.
