Steps Apace to Ensure Proper Water Supply in V’wada

VIJAYAWADA: The Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) is making alternative arrangements to ensure water supply in the ensuing summer does not suffer.

As there is no water in Ryves canal which feeds the Gangireddula Dibba pumping station, efforts are on to supply an additional 15 mgd water from pumping station at the Model Guest House on Canal Road.

Municipal commissioner G Veerapandian wanted the protected drinking water supply schemes at Gunadala to which  Gangireddula Dibba  pumping station supplies water should not suffer on account of lack of water in Ryves canal.

The commissioner asked the officials to speed up works related to laying of water piplelines on a stretch of 7 km from pumping station at the Model Guest House.
