Three-Day MSME Expo Kicks Off

VISAKHAPATNAM : National Vendor Development Programme-cum-Industrial Exhibition MSME-2015, a three-day expo organised by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) in association with Visakhapatnam Autongar Small Scale Industries Welfare Association kicked off at Autonagar here Monday.

AK Samanta, group general manager of Simhadri Super Thermal Power Plant, NTPC, inaugurated the expo, in which all PSUs are showcasing their products.

The prime objective of the expo is to facilitate interaction between the local MSEs and the officials of PSUs, government departments, promotional organisations and financial institutions to sensitise them on the registration process and procurement policies and to facilitate business fusion between participating units for mutual benefit. KRK Prasad, director MSME, Visakhapatnam, AK Balaji of VASSI Welfare Association, Y Sambhasiva Rao, Chairman, APIIC-IALA, Autonagar, and P Ravi Kumar, Zonal Manager, NSIC Limited, Bangalore, were present at the inaugural.

As many as 122 exhibits from MSME units in Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Tirupati, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam and RINL, NTPC, BHEL, BDL, DCI, ECoR, Coir Board, SIDBI, IDBI, SBH, etc., are on display at the expo. Around 300 local MSEs are participating.

The expo is open to all from 10 am to 7 pm.
