HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh government has sent a formal invitation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting him to inaugurate the Godavari Pushkarams beginning in the state on July 14.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will be personally inviting Modi to kick-start the mega event when he calls on Modi in a week. Naidu on Tuesday launched a website on the Pushkarams -- www.godavarimahapushkaram2015.org -- that will give updates on the event and arrangements.
At a review meeting on the event on Tuesday, Naidu said the government so far sanctioned Rs 1,160 crore for Pushkaram works and every penny has to be accounted for and quality maintained. He wanted a third party agency to carry out regular inspections.
The Chief Minister suggested that officials should go for a 90-day countdown and submit a daily report once the event begins.ens
