Stray Incidents Mar Day 1 of Intermediate Exams in City

VIJAYAWADA: The first day of the Intermediate Public Examinations passed off smoothly in the city, barring instances of parents of students entering into arguments with the staff at examination centres for not making proper arrangements for the students to take the examination.

At Montessori Mahila Kalasala in Vijayawada, the information for students on display boards was incomplete making it difficult for them to know in which room they were supposed to take the examination. For some time students and staff were seen arguing and later after the intervention of a senior faculty member, tempers calmed down.

Meanwhile, district collector Babu A himself went around examination centres and personally verified the hall tickets of students. This is besides a task force constituted by him which reports to him on malpractices, if any, at the examination centres.

The collector in the morning visited SRR and CVR college and made an inspection of the arrangements made for the students including proper illumination, availability of drinking water and working condition of ceiling fans. He entered a room and checked whether the students were sitting at the desks allotted to them and expressed satisfaction as everything was in order.
