HC Says APAT is Common to AP and TS

HYDERABAD:  A division bench of the High Court on Friday declared that the Andhra Pradesh Administrative Tribunal (APAT), which adjudicates the service matters of  state government employees, will have the jurisdiction to hear and dispose of the cases of the employees of AP and Telangana states in spite of bifurcation of the united AP state.

The bench, comprising chief justice KJ Sengupta and justice PV Sanjay Kumar, was disposing of petitions filed by B Laxmaiah, superintending engineer, and R Sriramulu, officer, of R&B department, who contended that the APAT did not have legal existence after bifurcation of the state.
