VIJAYAWADA: The police seized Khaini (a tobacco product) sachets worth `40 lakh at a transport godown near RTC workshop at Bhavanipuram in the city.
On information at 6.30 am on Saturday, police seized 100 bags of Khaini while being loaded into a lorry and caught another lorry which had just left with 200 bags.
Later, another 30 bags were in the godown.
In all 330 bags of Khaini were seized by the cops.
A detailed report will be submitted to the district joint collector and based on his directions further action will be initiated against the transport company.
