Arrangements for Civils Prelim Exam

VIJAYAWADA: Vijayawada: Elaborate arrangements are being made for the UPSC Civil Services prelim exams to be held on August 22 and 23.

Reviewing the arrangements with college principals here Tuesday, joint collector G Chandrudu said the exam will be conducted at 40 centres in Vijayawada, where 20,000 candidates are expected to attend.

He said year after year, the number of candidates appearing for civil services exams is increasing. In 2009, when he wrote the exam, the number of applicants across the country was 4.5 lakh and today it is 14 lakh.

He said for the two-days, the colleges will be paid rent by the UPSC.

He asked the Regional Intermediate Officer and DEO to shortlist the names of schools and colleges having the newly constructed buildings.
