HYDERABAD:The state government has decided that employees belonging to Telangana and working in the seven mandals in Khammam district, which were merged with AP, will be taken back into Telangana government service.

In all categories, 2,173 employees are working at present in the seven mandals. Of them, 585 employees are willing to work in AP and the remaining 1,588 are willing to work in Telangana.

But the government has decided that based on options, from amongst the remaining employees, only those who belong to Telangana will be taken back. If there is any surplus, supernumerary posts will be created for them.

Consequent to demerger and transfer of seven mandals to AP, employees working in those areas have said that they be taken back to Telangana state service as they are natives of Telangana and working in those mandals which were part of Khammam district before merger with AP.
