VIJAYAWADA:Vijayawada Municipal Corporation commissioner G Veerapandian has directed the public health department officials to take steps for free flow of major outfall drains and to prevent overflowing of drains on the roads.
He was inspected the One town, Wynchpet, Gandhi Bomma Centre and Raja Rajeswaripet areas, and inquired about the problems being faced by the residents. He asked the officials to widen the existing culverts for free flow of water in major outfall drains in One Town area.
The commissioner directed the officials to submit a report on vacant lands at Head Water Works and the Regional Science Centre.
Meanwhile, Mayor Koneru Sridhar asked the engineering department officials to carry out repairs to damaged water pipelines in the 53rd division and defunct borewells in Singhnagar.
