ONGOLE:Prakasam collector GSRKR Vijaya Kumar has reprimanded the irrigation officials for not filling the Ramatirtham Reservoir and the summer tank at Darsi when water was released from Nagarjuna Sagar.
The collector told the officials to take immediate measures to fill the Ramatirtham reservoir, as it would take at least 10 days for the water body to be full if the inflow is about 1,000 cusecs, so that it can meet the drinking water needs of the people in Giddalur, Ongole, Kandukur and Podili. He also directed the officials to ensure water supply from Peddaraveedu to Kanigiri instead of Podili, an official press release said here Tuesday.
