GO for Fibre Cable Network

HYDERABAD: The state government has decided to set up a ‘Fibre Cable Grid Network’ to connect all villages, towns and cities through Internet. The grid is aimed at providing high-speed Internet connection to every household across the state at an affordable cost.

As part of this, the government on Wednesday issued orders setting up the AP Fibre Corporation with an initial share capital of `7 Crore. The corporation’s  headquarters will be at Vijayawada. It will work under the purview of the Department of Information Technology, Electronics & Communications.

“State-wide connectivity at affordable costs is one of the cornerstones of Digital AP. Every household should be lit up with access to video capable broadband at an affordable tariff,” the government said in the GO.
