VIJAYAWADA: Social welfare minister Ravela Kishore Babu on Sunday said the government has sanctioned `80 crore for the supply of better quality rice for students in welfare hostels in the state.
The minister inspected girls welfare hostel in Gunadala here and had breakfast with them. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the government will take every measure to improve facilities in the welfare hostels. “We decided to appoint nutritional consultant in the hostels and will take steps to provide nutrition food based on their suggestions. We will take measures to provide summer training for students who have completed the intermediate,” minister said. He promised the students that the government will make efforts to release scholarships for the students. “The government has released `29 crore for the salaries of outsourcing employees, and Krishna district has received `3.76 crores,” he said.
