Two Die as Car Falls into Canal

KADAPA:Two people died when the car they were travelling fell in a canal near Somulavaripalle village in Proddatur mandal of the district Saturday evening.

According to Proddatur Rural police, the victims were identified as M Jayaraju (50) from Sankarapuram area in Proddatur town and his relative, Vinod (31).

The duo was heading to Venkatapuram village in Yerraguntla mandal in a car. Near Somulavaripalle, the car went out of control and fell into a canal from the bridge, killing the duo instantaneously.

Some youth, who were swimming in the canal at the time, alerted the police. The cops retrieved the bodies by breaking the glasses of the vehicle and rushed them to Proddatur Government Hospital for post-mortem.
