VIJAYAPURA: A three-member team of doctors deputed by the Medical Council of India (MCI), conducted a surprise inspection of Siddhartha Medical College (MCI)in the city here on Tuesday.
According to sources, the members of the team came from various medical institutions in Delhi, Varanasi and Meerut and they inspected the infrastructure, number of beds, lecture halls, surgery and medicine units, faculty members, out-patient units in general and paediatric wings, hostel, laboratory and other facilities required for allotment of additional 50 seats to the college.
Earlier, the MCI had sanctioned 100 seats for the college and the management had requested the MCI to sanction additional 50 seats, but in Nov 2014, during their sudden inspection, the Council members were dissatisfied. The team made its present inspection following a fresh request by the state government.
