HYDERABAD:The Andhra Pradesh government, which wants to set up an Economic Development Board (EDB)on the lines of the EDB of Singapore, has decided to study the functioning of the EDB in the island nation.
As part of this, Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao along with Principal Finance Secretary PV Ramesh will visit Singapore from May 13.
“The tour is aimed at studying the Singapore EDB and other Key Economic Institutions for designing the new institution, Economic Development Board (EDB), as an enabler for the departments to fast track the economic growth and place the State on a sustainable double digit growth strategy,” State government said in GO issued here on Thursday.
According to the GO, the officers after coming back from their visit will have to submit a report to the GAD department with well-defined outputs from their visit.
