Girijan Corpn Set to Boost Business

RAJAHMUNDRY: The Girijan Co-operative Corporation (GCC) has devised an action plan to boost its business in AP in the coming days, according to GCC managing director Ravi Prakash.

Disclosing this to Express here Sunday, he said that as part of the plan, the GCC proposed to set up Honey Manufacturing Plants (HMP) all over the state and increase the number of its retail stalls.

Accordingly, the GCC would be setting up a HMP in Rajahmundry shortly at an estimated cost of `20 lakh, he said. Stating that the HMP would provide jobs to as many as 2,500 people directly or indirectly, he added that it would have an annual production capacity of 2,500 kg. The proposed honey plants would fully cater to the honey needs of the state.

Stating that the GCC had set a business turnover target of `180 cr in the state during this year, he added that it proposed to increase the number of its distributors from the present 150 to 200.
