Rowdy-sheeter Murder: Nine Taken into Custody

VISAKHAPATNAM: The murder mystery of rowdy-sheeter Anil Kumar who was brutally stabbed and beaten to death at Allipuram in the city Saturday night, turned out to be a revenge drama.

The Two Town police Wednesday reportedly took nine persons into custody for questioning and they are likely to be produced in the court Thursday.

Anil Kumar was accused in a double murder case in 2011, where one Rajesh was murdered. Sources said that Chitti, the elder brother of Rajesh, had brought together people who reportedly suffered because of Anil and hatched a plan to murder him.

Anil’s friend Karuna Kumar, who sustained injuries in the incident, initially gave the police the names of Chitti and his gang members.

But later, under pressure from the family members of the deceased, he added the name of Podugu Kiran who had an argument with Anil earlier in the day. But police investigations revealed that Kiran had sorted out his problems with Anil and had no involvement in the murder.

The family members of Podugu Kiran who was taken into custody within a couple of days after the incident, have been insisting that Kiran had no involvement in the killing and it could be a revenge act committee by the opponents of Anil.
