Amendment to LA Act Okay, Says Venkaiah

GUNTUR:Lashing out at the Congress for its 50 years of silence on development of the country, Union minister for urban development M Venkaiah Naidu has said the grand old party is making tall claims.

In a brief interaction with mediapersons here Friday, the minister, who was on his way to participate in a BJP meeting at Narasaraopet, said there were no scams or corruption in the last one year.

Venkaiah Naidu said the Congress was worried over the successful conduct of the Parliamentary proceedings for 35 days like never before and several adjournment motions moved by the Opposition reflects its fears. He said hindering reforms was nothing but hindering development.

Pointing out that the Congress government had acquired lands for developmental works in the past using the Land Acquisition Act, he wondered why that party was objecting to the law now. He defended the amendments to the LA Act 2013 claiming that they were beneficial to the nation.
