B. Tech Student Slips off Train, Dies

SRIKAKULAM:A B. Tech student from the neighbouring state of Odisha died after he slipped off the foot board of a moving train here late Thursday night. The incident took place near Palasa Railway Station and the deceased was identified as Dinesh Moudi (20) of Devapuram village in Gajapathi district of Odisha state.

According to the police, Dinesh was studying B.Tech in Bhubaneswar. He took a train to reach his native place Wednesday. He was supposed to get down at Palasa railway station and catch a bus to reach Devapuram. However, late Thursday night, he fell asleep and missed the station.

On realising it after a while, Dinesh tried to jump off the moving train and slipped from the foot board. He sustained major head injuries and died on the spot.

The GRP police rushed to the place and shifted the body to hospital for autopsy. They registered a case and are investigating.
