VIJAYAWADA: District collector Babu A directed the officials concerned to lodge complaints against those who have illegally removed the check gates of sand reaches in the district and have criminal cases registered against them.
Addressing the officials during a review meeting on sand issues here Friday, the collector asked for an explanation for the delay in supplying sand to applicants. He said out of the 1,73,583 applicants, only 1,70,910 got the supply. He asked the officials to take measures for opening more sand reaches in the district.
Babu said police should ensure protection and safety of women managing sand reaches. He directed Nagarjuna Sagar CEO to assume additional charge of the panchayat raj department.
Later addressing another review meeting, he directed the officials concerned to implement PM’s 15-point programme for minority welfare in an effective manner.
He also directed officials to take measures for commencement of coaching for civil services exams at AP Study Circle in Vijayawada.
