17 School Buses Seized

VIJAYAWADA: Deputy transport commissioner S Venkateswara Rao has warned the managements of educational institutions with stern action if school buses fail to renew their fitness certificates. Validity of fitness certificates issued by the transport department to school buses ended on May 15.

On Saturday, during RTA raids, 17 buses were seized as they did not have fitness certificates. In all, there were 2,200 school buses in the district and officials said inspections would  continue until vehicle was fit for operation in all respect.
