VISAKHAPATNAM:City comedian Korukonda Ranga Rao has added another feather in his cap by successfully entering the Guinness World Records for delivering 654 jokes in an hour. HRD minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao and health minister Kamineni Srinivasa Rao presented the Guinness certificate to Ranga Rao at Vysakhi Jala Udyanavanam here Saturday.
Korukonda Ranga Rao,(43) an employee of Visakhapatnam steel plant, achieved the feat for rendering 654 jokes in an hour on September 29, 2013 in Vizag. he has broken the records set by Anthony Lehmann of Australia who had delivered 549 jokes in an hour around eight years ago.
Rao had already entered the Limca Book of Records, India Book of Records and Asian Book of Records by delivering maximum number of jokes for long as well as short span.
On the occasion, Ganta Srinivasa Rao said that he had attended many events of Ranga Rao and was well aware of his comic timing and sense of humour and his ability to crack up any audience. He also mentioned that Ranga Rao had made Vizagites proud with all these international achievements.
Dedicating the certificate to the joke lovers in the country, Ranga Rao said he was preparing to set yet another world record by reciting jokes for 55 hours by December.
