11 Arrested and Part Booty Recovered

VISAKHAPATNAM: The city police nabbed 11 persons, accused in four cases including ex-convicts and three juveniles, involved in various offences in the city limits Saturday. The cops recovered  90 gm of gold, a laptop, cameras, three motorbikes and some expensive articles.

Gajuwaka PS: In a case, the Central Crime Station (CCS) police, led by inspector G Raghu Srinivas, arrested four of a gang, including three juveniles, on the charges of committing property offences at Gajuwaka, Anakapalle, Atchutapuram and Parawada.  Ch Purshotam (19), a native and resident of Gajuwaka area, led the gang. Addressing newsmen, ADCP (Crimes) S Varada Raju said that Purshotam along with three juveniles attempted to loot cash from AP Grameena Vikas Bank, at Haripalem of Atchutapuram. Following this, they broke open a house opposite to the bank and fled away with three tola of gold. Besides, the gang was  involved in house burglary at Kodakarla, two temple thefts and three motor vehicle thefts. The gang also stole one laptop, two Nikon cameras and  a wrist watch and `10,000 in cash from a shop at Munagapaka. The police recovered part of the booty from them.

Harbour PS: The Harbour Police arrested four persons of a seven-member burglary gang. The accused have been identified as B Chiranjeevi (24), B Balakishore (23), N Suryanarayana (40) and B Chinna Rao (25), all from Vizag. Police said, “Chiranjeevi, a private firm driver, along with Balakishore and two others looted a container, located at West Quay Berth No:1, in Port area and fled away with stainless steel nuts and bolts weighing around 600 kg, valued around `6 lakh. Later, the duo sold the material to scrap dealers N Suryanarayana and B Chinna Rao. The cops arrested Chirajeevi and Balakishore along with the scrap dealers and recovered 573 kg of stolen property from them. Teams have been deployed to nab the other accused.

Kancharapalem PS:  The Kancharapalem police arrested a youngster on the charge of burgling a house at Kancharapalem police station limits. The accused, K Naveen Kumar (22), is a resident of Madhurwada. Police said that Naveen was a school dropout. He had burgled three houses at Kancharapalem and PM Palem. The police recovered three tola gold from him.

Gajuwaka PS: The Gajuwaka police arrested Bisai Raj (24) of Malkapuram and Ch Venkata Jagadish (32) of East Godavari district. Police said that Raj and Venkata Jagadeesh had been involved in chain snatching cases. They snatched gold ornaments from a woman in a bus and fled. The police recovered one and a half tola gold from them. Raj and Venkata Jagadeesh are former offenders and friends.
