Boy Meets Watery Grave

VISAKHAPATNAM :  In a tragic incident, a 12-year-old child drowned after entering a pond for flowers at Praharajapalem village near Pathapatnam of the district Saturday night. The incident came to light when the body of the boy floated up in the pond Sunday morning. The deceased has been identified as P Sri Sai Sravan (12), a resident of Pathapatnam.

According to Pathapatnam police, Sravan went to play at around 6 pm from his house Saturday. As he did not return home, his parents searched for him the whole night and even intimated the police. On Sunday morning, the locals found the boy’s bicycle and his clothes near the pond. His body floated to the surface after sometime. The police fished out the body and sent it for postmortem.

Police said that Sravan entered the water for flowers and drowned due to the depth. Sravan was a Class VI student of Naidu Public School at Pathapatnam. A case has been registered.
