IIM Vizag Classes to Start by Sep 21

VISAKHAPATNAM:The classes for the first batch of Indian Institute of Management-2015 Vizag chapter will start at the Andhra University campus from September 21. The varsity is providing buildings to conduct classes temporarily till the IIM campus at Gambheeram near Anandapuram takes shape.

Delegates from IIM Bangalore, dean (Projects) Saurav Mukherjee, officials from Director’s Office Puneeth Kaur, administrative officer, IIM, Vizag campus, Chandrasekhara Rao and Andhra University registrar Umamaheswara Rao met HRD minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao Tuesday and informed that the classes would be started from September 21 for the first batch of 120 students. They also informed that orientation classes would be conducted during the first week while formal classes would begin from September 28.

On the occasion, Ganta Srinivasa Rao said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is keen to bring the very best for students and wants to arrange an interaction session with Ratan Tata and other industrial giants. As the Chief Minister is visiting on September 22, the minister asked the IIM delegates to review the date and if possible, begin the classes from September 22. The minister also said that if there is any difficulty to change the date, the Chief Minister would interact with the students on a later date.

Andhra University registrar Umamaheswara Rao informed that the inaugural programme would be conducted at the YVS Murty auditorium. All the necessary arrangements have been made to conduct the classes on the AU campus, the registrar added. Collector N Yuvaraj and DEO MV Krishna Reddy were also present.
