Star Performer Award for NALCO

VISAKHAPATNAM : The largest state owned Navaratna, Aluminium producer NALCO has bagged the Star Performer Award for Exports. The award is issued by Engineering Export Promotion Council which has been set up by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

The award was received by AK Murty, General Manager (PF-Port Facilities), port division of NALCO, Visakhapatnam, on behalf of CMD TK Chand, from Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Nirmala Sitharaman at a function held in New Delhi. This is the 14th consecutive time that NALCO has received this award.

In the manufacturing sector, NALCO has also been one of the top foreign exchange earners of the country. On an average, the export turnover of NALCO exceeds $500 million a year. NALCO has been able to double its profits in the last two months of the second quarter as compared to the first two months of first quarter.

On increase in profitability in the last months of the second quarter, AK Murthy informed that this was mainly due to the collective dedication of NALCO.
