VISAKHAPATNAM : Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, continued to improve its production performance last month. The coke and liquid steel productions from SMS-2, cast bloom production and wire rod production registered growth in August over the corresponding period of last year (CPLY).
RINL’s sales volume of 3.06 lakh tonnes during August was up by 50 per cent over the sales of previous month. The exports of `176 crore in August represents a growth of 46 per cent over the CPLY.
RINL CMD P Madhusudan said that the main focus was to increase productivity and garner consequential benefits through modernisation programmes and early stabilisation of the expanded units.
