VIJAYAWADA:  Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanams, the custodian of Goddess Kanaka Durga Temple atop Indrakeeladri, is gearing up for celebrating Dasara festival in a grand manner. The 10-day festival will commence on October 13 and conclude on October 22.

The temple executive officer held a review meeting with officials to discuss the action plan for Dasara festival, during which temple receives heavy influx of pilgrims from across the country. Crowd management, queue lines, illumination, medical camps, drinking water, security, public address system, tonsuring, cloak room, annadanam, prasadams, VIP protocol, coconut breaking points, boat festival, additional deployment of personnel, were discussed at length during the meeting.

In the coming weeks, more such review meetings will be held to take stock of the progress being made in the arrangements and correct the lapses, if any, the EO said.
