Separate HC: Advocates Stage Protest

VISAKHAPATNAM :  Demanding a new High Court in Andhra Pradesh immediately, the members of Visakhapatnam Bar Association boycotted the courts and staged a protest following a call from the Advocates Joint Action Committee, at the District Courts Complex Thursday. The advocates will also stage a dharna before the District Collectorate Friday.

The members of Visakhapatnam Bar Association led by its president K Suresh Kumar sought the cooperation of clients to boycott the court.

Suresh Kumar demanded that the TDP government fulfil the promises made in its 2014 election manifesto for the welfare of advocates including health cards, house sites, enhancement of welfare fund to `6 lakh, and provision of stipend for junior advocates of `5,000.
