ELURU: A 55-year-old man raped a minor girl at Chintaparru village in Palacole Rural mandal of West Godavari district on Saturday.
According to police, Buditi Chinarayudu of Chintaparru village used to invite the 11-year-old girl, who was residing near his house along with her parents, to his house everyday and offer chocolates.
On Saturday afternoon, he invited the girl to his house on the pretext of offering chocolates. When she went inside, he sexually assaulted her.
After returning home, the girl suffered from severe headache and abdominal pain. The parents immediately shifted her to Palacole Government Hospital where doctors, after conducting medical tests, confirmed that she was raped. The girl is undergoing treatment.
The girl’s father lodged a complaint against Chinarayudu with the police on Sunday. Palacole Rural circle inspector of police Chandrasekhar registered a case and took up investigation. The cops also launched a manhunt for Chinarayudu, who is absconding.
