More Compensation for Logistics Park Land Losers

VISAKHAPATNAM: Collector N Yuvaraj assured the people of Valluru village of Anakapalle mandal that he would speak to the officials of Visakhapatnam Port Trust and APIIC to increase the official price to land losers of the logistics park in the village by 10 per cent.

The collector along with Ankapapalle MP M Srinivasa Rao and MLA PG Satyanarayana visited the village and interacted with the people Tuesday. The government selected 286 acres of land in the village to set up the logistics park. The APIIC had acquired the land from 352 farmers and 120 of them have been cultivating in D-form patta land in an extent of 102.94 acres.

The government has agreed to pay Rs 13,38,22,000 to the D-form farmers and another 232 farmers have been cultivating the government lands without any documents for the past several decades.

However, the government decided to pay compensation to all the farmers and released Rs 6,54,20,000. The collector, the MLA and the MP handed over the cheques to the farmers.
