Lord Venkateswara Rides Kalpavruksha Vahanam

TIRUMALA: On the fourth day of the ongoing Brahmotsavams, Lord Venkateswara was taken out in a procession on Kalpavruksha Vahanam signifying that He is the giver of boons to his devotees and He is the one who fulfills their wishes.

According to the Hindu mythology, Kalpavruksha is a wish-fulfilling divine tree. It has emerged out of the churning of milky sea by Devatas and Asuras in want of Amrita.

Legend has it that those who take shelter under Kalpavruksha will not starve. The use of Kalpavruksha Vahanam by Lord Venkateswara also denotes the importance of environment, greenery, afforestation and pollution-free atmosphere.

TTD Turst Board chairman Ch Krishnamurthy, executive officer D Sambasiva Rao, Tirumala joint executive officer  KS Sreenivasa Raju, Board members Suchithra Ella, Hariprasad, Raghavendra Rao and others were present on the occasion.
