VIJAYAWADA: A woman in her thirties committed suicide by hanging herself at Paritala under Kanchikacherla police limits on Saturday. She resorted to the extreme step due to alleged harassment from a youth in the village. Her relatives and friends staged a protest demonstration at the police station holding police responsible for the death of Mariyamma.
They said the police failed to act on Mariyamma’s complaint three days ago and if they had only acted, she might have been alive.
Bandar Boy Bags Bronze in Karate Tourney
Machilipatnam: Aslam Ali Abbass, a first year BiPC student from RK College in Machilipatnam, bagged a bronze medal in the ongoing Commonwealth Karate Championship 2015 at New Delhi. He got the medal in junior category. According to Aslam’s father Rahim, he had previously won two gold medals in Karate contest held in Malaysia and stood third in Dubai.
