Collector Clarifies on Land Pooling for Port

 VIJAYAWADA:The district administration has made it clear on Wednesday that of the 14,000 acres of land proposed to be taken from farmers for construction of Machilipatnam Seaport, 7,000 acres would go towards house sites to be allotted to farmers after creating necessary facilities and another 5,000 acres for developing it and return it to the farmers.

District Collector Babu A made the announcement during a review of land pooling exercise going on for Machilipatnam port at the collector’s office here which was attended by ministers D Umamaheswara Rao, Kollu Ravindra and MP K Narayana.  The collector said that very soon the government would issue orders for taking land under pooling scheme.
