Norms Tightened in Health Sector

HYDERABAD:  Employees of all health sub centres, primary health centres (PHCs) and community health centres (CHCs) should stay in their headquarters and the centres should be kept open from 9 am to 4 pm.

In order to improve public healthcare services, the State government on Monday issued certain guidelines. The development assumes significance following a series of unpleasant incidents in the Government General Hospital (GGH) in Guntur recently.

Accordingly, the centres should ensure that all medicines for first-aid are kept in sufficient quantities. “Deputy district medical officers should ensure the control and prevention of vector-borne diseases, screening of schoolchildren,” the order said.
